It is with great excitement, excuse the pun, that the Excite Team are delighted to welcome Vanessa Ruck, aka The Girl on a Bike, to the team for the All Wheel drive Club Safari at Bovington on Sunday 21st April. Vanessa will be testing out the the team’s Desert Warrior 3 and finding out more about rally raid and “stick-shift” driving.
Vanessa is a rally driver, motorcycle racer and adventurer. After a seven-year recovery from a life-changing accident Vanessa discovered motorcycles and has since competed in some of the toughest endurance races in the world. She battled brutal desert terrains in up to 125°F temperatures and became the first female to ever finish the Tunisia Desert Challenge, and in January 2024 will be taking on the Africa Eco Race following the original Dakar route. Not letting her chronic pain become an excuse, her resilience has seen her become an inspiration to all.
